As a destination Gorge bride myself, I know firsthand the draw to this beautiful area and the appeal of a wedding with Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge as a backdrop. We loved it so much that only three months after our own 2010 Gorge wedding, we quit our jobs, packed up our house in Florida and drove across the country to make Hood River our home. While I have planned, coordinated, designed, and executed all kinds of different events and weddings over the years, it’s my passion for this magical region, and my love for creating handcrafted and personalized events that launched Hitched in the Hood in 2011.
As the principle planner and lead designer, my favorite part of my job is to help bring wedding dreams and visions to life. I make it a point to get to know each of my clients and what makes them unique. This allows me to infuse that personality and story into the big day. I believe that each event is an individual expression.
Born and raised in the Land of Lincoln, I hold strong to my Midwestern roots and values, but something kept pulling me West and my heart has found a permanent home here. I am happiest being outdoors and in nature enjoying the many wonders of the Columbia River Gorge region―whether spending my days hiking a local favorite trail or spending my evenings getting rosy cheeks with a big glass of local red wine by a campfire. I live in Hood River with my husband, Keith, our sweetest daughter Ivy, and our dog, Rasta pup.
Together with my husband, we own and operate a complimentary business, Riverhood Rentals, which is a party and event equipment rentals business offering everything needed to help bring an event to life.
